Your2Wheels in Your Pocket
Your2Wheels is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA), allowing you to install the website directly onto your phone or tablet for quick and convenient access.
While it isn’t a traditional app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, it provides many of the same benefits, including fast access to the community without needing to open your web browser each time.
Simply install the app to your device and access Your2Wheels with a single tap.
Why a Progressive Web App?
As a community-driven platform, we wanted to make Your2Wheels easily accessible to everyone without the significant cost of developing and maintaining separate iPhone and Android apps.
A Progressive Web App allows us to:
- Provide a fast, mobile-friendly experience.
- Make Your2Wheels easy to install.
- Ensure everyone always has the latest version without downloading app updates.
- Focus our resources on building new community features.
It’s a practical solution that allows us to continue improving the platform while keeping costs manageable.
What Can I Do in the App?
Once installed, you can access almost everything available on the Your2Wheels website, including:
- Browse the Community Feed.
- Join conversations.
- Send messages.
- Find and join groups.
- Browse events.
- Discover destinations.
- Explore and create routes.
- Search for members.
- Access the Business Directory.
- Manage your profile.
Because the app uses the same platform as the website, your information is always synchronised across all of your devices.
Why Don’t I Receive Push Notifications?
This is one of the most common questions we receive.
While the Progressive Web App provides a great mobile experience, it does not currently offer the same level of push notification support as a fully native mobile application.
At this stage, notifications are managed through the website and your notification settings rather than native app notifications.
As the Your2Wheels community grows, we’ll continue to evaluate additional mobile features based on member feedback and available resources.

The Progressive Web App is just the beginning.
Our long-term vision is to develop Your2Wheels into a dedicated mobile app that provides an even richer experience for riders across New Zealand.
As the community grows, we’d love to introduce features such as:

Developing and maintaining a dedicated mobile app requires significant investment, so our focus is first on building a strong and active community.
