Turn a Great Ride into a Great Experience
Organising a motorcycle event is about more than simply choosing a destination. A successful event combines good planning, clear communication and an enjoyable route to create a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Whether you’re organising a social coffee ride, charity event, overnight tour or club ride, a little preparation goes a long way.
Choose the Type of Event
Start by deciding what kind of event you’re organising.
Examples include:
- Breakfast or coffee ride
- Scenic day ride
- Charity ride
- Overnight tour
- Motorcycle show
- Training ride
- Club meeting
- Social gathering
Knowing the purpose of your event will help shape the route, destination and overall experience.
Plan the Ride
Before creating your event, consider:
- Where riders will meet
- The route they’ll follow
- The destination
- Planned fuel or rest stops
- Expected ride duration
- Rider experience level
If your event includes a ride, we recommend creating the route first so it can be linked to the event.
Decide Who the Event Is For
Your2Wheels allows you to create two types of events:
Community Events
Open to the wider Your2Wheels community.
Group Events
Associated with one of your groups and automatically inherit the group’s privacy settings.
Choose the option that best suits your audience.
Provide Clear Information
A well-written event description should answer common questions before they’re asked.
Include:
- Meeting location
- Arrival time
- Departure time
- Ride pace
- Approximate distance
- Fuel requirements
- Costs (if any)
- Special instructions
The more information you provide, the easier it is for riders to decide if the event is right for them.
On the Day
As the organiser:
- Arrive early.
- Welcome new riders.
- Hold a short rider briefing.
- Explain the planned route and stops.
- Encourage everyone to ride within their own ability.
- Keep the atmosphere friendly and inclusive.
Great events are remembered for the people as much as the destination.
