1. Frequently Asked Questions

Your2Wheels is a New Zealand motorcycle community where riders can connect, discover routes, share destinations, organise events, join riding groups and support motorcycle-friendly businesses.

Unlike traditional social media, Your2Wheels is built specifically for motorcyclists and the way they ride.

Anyone with an interest in motorcycles is welcome, whether you're:

  • A learner rider
  • A weekend rider
  • A daily commuter
  • A tourer
  • An adventure rider
  • A club member
  • A motorcycle business

Yes. Most community features are free to use.

Supporting Rider memberships are available for members who would like to help support the ongoing development of the community and unlock additional benefits.

Facebook is great for social networking, but it wasn't built specifically for motorcyclists.

Your2Wheels brings everything riders need together in one place, making it easier to:

  • Discover and share routes.
  • Find motorcycle-friendly destinations.
  • Organise rides and events.
  • Connect with riders who share your interests.
  • Support motorcycle businesses.
  • Build a lasting, searchable community resource.

Unlike a social media post that quickly disappears from view, routes, destinations and other community contributions remain available to help riders discover and enjoy them for years to come.

No.

Your2Wheels isn't designed to replace Facebook. It's designed to provide motorcycle riders with dedicated tools that general social media platforms don't offer, such as routes, destinations, Points of Interest, events, groups and a motorcycle business directory. Many members continue to use both platforms, with Your2Wheels focusing specifically on planning rides, sharing local knowledge and connecting with the motorcycle community.

ou can help by:

  • Sharing routes.
  • Adding destinations.
  • Creating events.
  • Welcoming new members.
  • Recommending businesses.
  • Becoming a Supporting Rider.

Every contribution helps build a stronger community.

6. Mobile App

The current app is a Progressive Web App rather than a fully native mobile app.

As the community grows, we hope to develop a dedicated mobile app with additional features, including native push notifications.

Yes.

Your2Wheels is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) that can be installed on your phone or tablet.

4. Routes & Navigation

Yes.

Routes created on Your2Wheels can be downloaded as GPX or KML files for use with compatible navigation apps and GPS devices.

Yes.

You can create routes using the Your2Wheels mapping tools or upload an existing GPX or KML file if you've already planned your ride elsewhere.

Many popular motorcycle navigation apps support GPX files, including:

  • Beeline Moto
  • Garmin zūmo
  • Kurviger
  • MyRoute-app
  • Calimoto
  • OsmAnd

See our Recommended Motorcycle Navigation Apps guide for more information.

Not directly.

Your2Wheels is a route planning and sharing platform, rather than a dedicated navigation app.

Routes can be downloaded as GPX or KML files and used with many popular motorcycle navigation apps and GPS devices.

For destinations, events and route locations, route creators can also choose to enable quick navigation links. Where available, these links allow you to open the location in Waze or your preferred navigation app for turn-by-turn directions to that specific location.

This is particularly useful for navigating to:

  • A ride meeting point
  • The start of a route
  • A destination
  • A planned stop along the way

For full route navigation, we recommend downloading the GPX file and using a compatible motorcycle navigation app. See our Recommended Motorcycle Navigation Apps guide to learn more
