Another motorcycle name is preparing to enter the New Zealand market. ZXMOTO has a New Zealand website showing sports, naked and off-road models, with an announcement about local pricing and pre-orders expected on Thursday 8 October.
The initial range flagged for pre-orders includes the 820RR and 500RR sportsbikes, the 500F naked bike, and the MX250 and MX450 motocross bikes. That gives riders several quite different reasons to watch the launch.
What is on the NZ website?
The 820RR is an 818cc inline-three sportsbike, while the 500RR uses a 470cc inline-four engine. The 500F brings an inline-four to a naked-bike format. On the dirt side, ZXMOTO is promoting its MX250 and MX450.
ZXMOTO’s NZ site also shows other models marked “coming soon”, including a 500F LAMS variant and Rally 450. Those listings are worth keeping an eye on, but a website listing alone does not establish when a particular bike will be in a New Zealand showroom. The company says selected road models are planned in LAMS-approved versions for this market.
The questions Kiwi buyers still need answered
Price will be the headline for many riders. Just as important are the confirmed NZ dealers, local parts and servicing support, warranty terms, and when each model can actually be seen or ridden here.
ZXMOTO is expected to provide pricing, initial dealer details and pre-order information on 8 October. Until those details are published, we would treat the bikes as ones to watch rather than make assumptions about what an NZ buyer will pay or when they can take one home.
Which would you want to see in person first: a sportsbike, the 500F, or one of the motocross bikes?
